People always say that u never knew what actually happen unless you are part of the whole thing. 4 months is more than enough to learn and know what u need to know about work ethics, politics at work, friendship bitching, respect, selfishness, responsibilities and commitment. I thank god that I ‘m finally out of that place (with a 24 hours notice) and enjoying my new work. Though not everything about that place is bad, there are still good memories that I could bring along with me. I shall say its 70% bad-30% good. Not gonna say much on that coz let pass just be it. Not gonna mess my mind with it. Also thanks and appreciate the personal attack made through facebook by certain individuals. Bcos of that am out of there, enjoying my work life & most of it I got back my personal life that I miss for the past 4 months. Adios!Amigos!

Confession of a Drama Queen!!

Wow..what a title given to me..and yet I felt honoured. Ye la..musim-musim Oscar ni kan..and it just ended few hours ago..Can I give my speech now?? I'M THANKING THE JURIES, JUDGES AND MY FANS..I WON'T BE ABLE TO GET THIS HONOURED ACHIEVEMENT IF IT WASN'T BECAUSE OF MY ENVIRONMENT..THANK YOU EVERYONE..HOPE TO SEE U AGAIN NEXT YEAR!!

I have to admit..for the past 2 months, this blog has been my bestest friend. All it have to do is just listen..owh!how I wonder if it can talk..most probably he'd say the same thing..'Owh!u bitchy drama queen?just stop it or I'll delete u'..hahaha..duuh...are u dare??or maybe I'll delete u first..haha!! Ok, what is this Drama Queen is all about..?To be truth, I dunno!! But I think I have an idea of what it is about..haha...Where shall I start??OK la...Once upon a time...(very lame)..

Can one ever imagine when u've been working 7 days a week, for 6 weeks - and u are damn exhausted n tired,What will happen to u then?Grumpy?Moody?..Yeah...just to name few of the symptoms. To make things worst, u r doing almost everything at one time? u r organising this, organising that, catching the deadline of this and that, entertaining parents enquiries and favor to do this, do that, which by right they have to do it themselves and even answered the fucking phone which most question being asked were such a stupid questions-that u even can find it in the website. To make things worst, there are too many heads instructing u to do this and that, and most of the times the instruction overlapped/different from one another...and u have a dateline to catch???It may sounded like 'aah..it normal...'..IT MIGHT sound like that..but..if it is well organised things will never get this worst. Why am I doing this again?Yeah, there are few people helped..and i truely deeply appreciated what they did for me..but..one thing about me..I just dont know how to instruct people..I'd rather keep in quiet and try my best to finish them. Seriously I dont mind. But what surprise me was, is it normal or not..if a person called human..had an overload task sometimes gets a lil bit of emotional like grumpy+moody+stress etc. I'm a type of person, if I'm stressed out..I'll finished the work but my mouth will never stop mumbling. Bear in mind, just IGNORE what ever came out from my mouth cos I DON'T MEAN IT!It's just a medium of expressing dissappointment and stress. That even happened since I was little when I'm at home. Example, when my house untidy, I voluntarily will clean up the house BUT my mouth will never stop mumbling until I finish. What's the issue?want me to change them??I've tried but that's what GOD gave to me..Once during my childhood I was a stubborn girl..once I get older..late teenager I reckon..I've started to learn to view things positively and see the good side of everything. However, we wouldnt know how long we are able to try, there are some occasions where I slipped from the path..due to unforeseen circumstances..Hey!I'm human anyway, tell me, who doesnt make mistakes. I do feel regret that some people wants me to be perfect but apparently they aren't...

Tengok..dah merapu mana hala tah...tu la dia...dont get me started. Sometimes I dont blame these people..cos they might not have the whole idea what 'work stress' is all about. Once when I was in internship year 2004, I thought I knew..but apparently I dont..the stresses are very different. Once I got into the real thing..as asst.producer, loan officer etc..the stress is different cos WE ARE PAID TO PERFORM, WE ARE PAID TO DO THE JOB WELL..ALTHOUGH WE GOT THE SUCKEST JOB IN THE WORLD..I dunno whether am angry or not with these people, part of me says that maybe they are immature in understanding the fact of work..part of me a bit shocked with the title given to me..All am praying that one day, they'll experience what I was mumbling about. One would never learn until they felt it. Back to the question 'DO I DESERVE TO GET THE TITLE?'.. again its up to u guys..I think I deserve it when I'm facing this whole lot of stress at work, come back home need to play the role of a daughter/grand daughter of an ill grandma...and believe me...its very difficult to take care of the older people yang banyak sangat ragam..and yet u are already tired at work..Surprisingly am not that mad with these people for the title (like I said I also know how see the positive side in people)..Cos to me the level of stressness that I experienced is normal. The most stressful moment was when u r unemployed and that's when u think u'd rather die. Buat apa study tinggi but dont understand people's behaviour..what's the purpose of learning consumer behavior and advanced consumer behavior courses if I dont implement it.. Tul x? ..Has these people ever think that I really want this to happen to me? Its way beyond my control..As conclusion, what I learnt from this..one should always remember, one day one shall need to move out from the comfort zone and that's when one's emotions and mental will be tested as soft as it may or as hard as it may..Once u r in this working line...u cant please everyone eventhough your officemate, friends etc..u'll think of non-other than ur responsibility and work commitment..and dont be surprised when one will lose the freedom of socialising, losing the sense of friendship, sense of measuring and almost lose everything except for one's career..That's when u know what am shitting about!And I shall say..WELCOME TO THE ACTUAL SHIT!! :)

Departing Australia: ....6 Months Later....(The redemption)

Life has been a roller coaster since I left Aussie. The first month (Aug) was kind of happy moments for me. Enjoying life, catching up stories with friends..etc. But hey, life is not only about fun kan..many things happened..ada yang sedih..sakit hati..happy..etc. There were times I felt like "gosh...I shouldn't left Brisbane at the first place' and there were also times I felt 'it’s good to be back in Malaysia'. Those things happened in various events along with a mixture of emotions, feeling & actions resulting in making stupid decisions and wise decisions of life (most of it stupid and regrettable). Am not going to talk details about what happened (buat sakit hati je). All of mentioned related closely to the conflict of ambition, career, self esteem, responsibility, being inferiority complex.

Celebrations

I got to celebrate my Ramadhan and Eid Fitri and Aidiladha in Malaysia. It was fun celebrating with your loves ones after two years, like seeing them around you + the food + baju raya shopping etc. However, there were some occasions where I felt like how I wish I was in Brisbane celebrating Eid. Don’t get me wrong, I am thankful that I got to celebrate Eid/Adha with my parents, siblings, cousins and families. It was just that the value of appreciating the meaning and concept of Eid/Adha. I dunno others but to me the concept of celebrating Eid/Adha are family gathers together preparing the raya dish from buying the raw food till cleaning up after raya, bake/rearrange raya cookies in the cookie jars, being noisy in the kitchen, cucuk sate, peeling the onions, ironing raya clothes, playing the fireworks. Sadly, I just didn’t get it here..in Malaysia..unlike those days when I was a kid,everything seemed so perfect, although there were lacked of here and there. It was like I was the only one that was very excited to celebrate it from prepping the raw, cooking and tidying (until my whole leg got cramped). Yeah, there were few person helped (mom, dad-to market and aunts) thanks a lot to them. But the feel wasn’t really there. Again am sorry, not that I don’t appreciate the helps by others but those mentioned contributed major help which I was actually expecting a gotong royong from different people. To me it is time for them to rest and it is our time to get busy with this raya thingy. They had enough for the past 20 years. Is it because all this while I was an organizer/initiator for family events and everything totally on me? I dunno..I’m not saying am the best, I also have certain weaknesses but I did tried my best so that everyone could enjoy Eid.. sampai serik. I dunno what went wrong. I really don’t know as I don’t want to point fingers to anybody. Let say I don’t initiate something, what happen to our Eid celebration..?tak kan tak raya..same goes to Aidiladha celebration that made me event frustrated. Apparently I enjoyed my Eid in Brisbane.Yeah..yeah..am sure u guys will say ‘owh that such an arrogant statement by comparing Eid here and abroad’. What else can I say, it’s a fact, being away for 2 years, where u only have friends to have your back, support u in many ways, with limited resources..still..we - a bunch of students managed to organized simple but memorable and meaningful eid. Most of us dunno how to cook especially the complicated raya dish but we made the effort by googling the recipe and trial an error. We gathered together at a place (normally one of the student’s house), started cooking, decorating and creating the environment as if we are celebrating in Malaysia. But here, where you already have everything except for the understanding of the concept. Other than that, I really enjoyed the family photo taking sessions.

Work

I started submitting for job application since I was in Brisbane, somewhere around June. Got few feedbacks and went for interviews. Some of it required me to sit for an examination, some are not. Not getting details on each of it coz it reminded me of the major cause of my stress level. Overall, the job market here sux and really bad. Whenever I think about job, I always regretted my decision of coming back here. The problem about me is that, most management doesn’t know where to classify my level and doesn’t want to pay according what I should get. I’m not being demanding, if the offer suitable with my working experience and qualifications that would do for me. Before this I kind of had a stable job even though it was just a contract basis. But at that time (2006) companies are looking for candidates that have some working experience and higher qualifications (masters). Due to that working demand, I encouraged myself to continue studies to add the extra value to my working experience so that it would benefits on my career advancements. However, after I graduated, I applied for few jobs, went for interviews..bla bla..ended up I still jobless. Most of the reason they don’t want to hire me because I am a masters graduate..and they can only pay me fresh grad’s salary. What the fuck is that??The question is haven’t they consider my previous working experience?..dah la I risked myself quitting my job & continue studies..mana pergi market demand during 2006 that triggered me to continue studies.? Am not being demanding, as long as the salary is reasonable pun dah ok. I’d rather worked as a cleaner earning min $19/hours,max $22/hours – weekly paid or as an assistant coach earning $16/hour – fortnightly paid than being paid monthly. I did both jobs during my Uni for surviving and I survived. Hey although the job mentioned was just as assistant coach or a cleaner, at least I got to earn >RM1200 per week after conversion. There was this one interview, and the job was kind of my dream job la. Verbally I got the job and supposed to start Nov 08, but due to top mgt’s problem, things cannot get started. It has been postponed few times. Waiting to get start on that job has been so stressful. Am keeping in touch with the person interviewed me which will be my immediate boss. He said the whole team couldn’t get started coz no one want to endorse (due to gila kuasa among the top people)..teruk kan!!their political conflict caused us our job. Now for the mean time am working at this one place which should be the last place I’d work. The job kinda fun coz I love the event thing..BUT..they under pay people..and the work loads are as if they pay u 3x of what u r getting+office politics. Hm..no choice and thinking of that I have car loan and asb loan to pay, gagahkan juga kerja sana. Although I get my salary, still my dad gives me my monthly expenses..coz gaji just enough to pay loans without balance. These job problems really caused me an emotion sickness. How I wish am still a kid, no need to think bout it..or how I wish am still in Brisbane..at least I keje halal and enjoy doing y work and most of all being paid fairly :(

People usually said that when u are home, u have no problems. But to me, things happened for past 6 months was the other way round. Lately I’ve recovered from a very bad depression. Well…recovered a bit. The worst depression of my life. The ultimate depression was on November. Naaah..november wasn’t a good month for me either. The reasons of me being depress was simple and can be put into equation:

Unemployed/Jobless + Uncertain responsibilities + No money + No social needs = Emotion sickness.

I’ve never been unemployed since I left school. Even while waiting for SPM results, I worked at a fast food restaurant. After degree I got job straight away. I had really high hope that as I cam back the max I’ll be unemployed will be 3 mths. Am kind of a mobile person, I need to do something. By not having a job makes feel that am such a loser!! I need to pay my car loan, asb loan and other loans..kdg2 bila mood parent kita x baik..they tend to asked questions which they know we don’t have the answer. Like ‘bila ni start keje?’ or maybe ayat2 yang they are paying our loan which patutnye we shd be paying it..Sangat Stress!!mmg terasa diri x berguna & loser. In the same time my grand parents are not well.,and have to take extra care of them. Is not am complaining, I know it’s a responsibility. But sometimes that responsibility made me confuse coz most of the time I feel like as if am one of their children not grandchildren. Yes..I know they are staying at my house but that doesn’t mean everyone cannot share the responsibility. I always questioned, pernah yg lain been into position where u felt guilty to go out for a while? If you go out, all of sudden u received a phone call asked u to come home immediately? U felt guilty even if u need to go for an interview??U haven’t been to movies for quite awhile? Your social needs being ignored? And the worst part already made plans with few friends and dah siap to go..then u cancelled it last minute and that didn’t happened once but few times??pernaah?? I bet x..but that only happened to me. In the same time I pity my mum and an aunt. Two of them always took turns looking for them. They were also into situations where they can’t go out even for few hours, due to the commitments. At one point I did made schedule involving my grandparent’s children & grand children. Ikut kan..kalau semua contribute, mcm max pun once a week, 3-4 hours je kena babysit them. Baru je draf, mcm2 bunyi dah ada. Ntah laa..to me this responsibility thing masing2 kena sedar. Tak kan need a schedule. That time I was so worry coz am starting my work soon. That time only can see people kelam kabut organized this and that. What if I x start keje lagi? No one bothers kot. I might sounded like sangat teruk with all of these statement. Hey this is what happened if u kept too much inside. Not that yang lain ignore terus, ada yg dtg visited grandparents, tp byg kn..datang visited for like 10-30mins once a week??to me..there is difference of visit and sama2 taking care of them..ntaah…x tau..x tau!!dunno what to say..and not pointing to anyone. Once a person said to me, I felt this way coz grandparents are staying with me..my answer: kenapa?if they r not staying with me, I got the exception on the responsibility laa? All am asking is just shared responsibility. However, now getting better la..thank god!although me still affected. Ok..now combine the stress+depression mentioned above and add them into me..what will u get?? A new me!!Someone who is depress, moody, stress etc. Know what, that time,, especially November, I totally wasn’t myself. I can’t think straight, selalu nk cari pasal dgn orang, always think that everyone wasn’t being fair to me, everyone hates me, I talked without thinking…and most of it ramai bengang dgn I+terasa+bengang etc. Most of the gestures came from my frens. I don’t blame them for hating me. They were bunch of good people but I was being an asshole and bitchy. Nak buat mcm ne, tried to control but x boleh. It was not within my reach. Anyway, what had pass is passed, Alhamdulillah, after I started working around mid Dec, I managed to pull myself back together and discovered on the right and wrong thing I did(mostly wrong) especially to my frens/close frens. Did say sorry to them although I know things will never be the same again between us. But if it will, it might take some time. What to do kan, that’s the price I need to pay for being stupid...not that I wanted it, it just happened. To those yang pernah terasa for the past 6 months (dedicated to family and friends), amreally sorry ya...what ever I did, what ever I said..it just slipped! I didn’t mean it and I love you all..!

My Final July

I was compiling and updating all of the pics saved in my laptop. Then only i realized that most of the pics came from my final month in Brisbane and i haven't post anything about it on my blog. If u notice, i didn't post anything throughout July..well..menghabiskan masa2 terakhir with brisbanians..hehe

I came to Brisbane on the 13th July 2006 and left on the 2nd August 2008. Ingat lagi, ms mula sampai sana mcm lost..really lost..coz i was alone..on my own..befriended with mostly international students until towards the end of 1st semester where i gotta know most of the Malaysian community. Since then, life was different..got great & superb international and Malaysian friends around me..sampai rasa tak nak balik Malaysia. Anyway, too much to jot down what happened over there. Kesimpulan nye,letting go was never easy. especially when u feel that u are attached to the place..the people and they became family.

Really gonna miss the MASCA Game! Queensland is HOT TO GO..H.O.T.T.O.G.O...Aaauuumm!

Keep rockin' the court! Have fun in Sydney 2009..gonna miss that!

King Roger crowned his 13th Grand Slam Title

The finalist: Andy Murray vs Roger Federer

Roger won the US Open title for five consecutive years. He also became part of tennis history by becoming the only player to win 5 consecutive title in two different Grand Slam - Wimbledon & US Open.

Roger is only one title away from getting even with Pete Sampras Grand Slam record and 2 titles away from becoming the legend of the open era.

Andy Murray proved that he deserved to be in the world's top ten players. After the US Open championship, he moved up to no. 4 rank.

Mens semifinals consists of top seed players, Rafa (1), Roger (2), Novak (3) and Murray (6).

The Underdogs:

Mardy Fish

He defeated 3 seeded players; Paul-Henri Mathieu (24), James Blake (9) and Gael Monfils (32) on his way to Quarter finals before lost to Rafael Nadal.

Juan Martin Del Potro

He came out with improved game on each round, and defeated Guillermo Canas, Thomaz Bellucci, Gilles Simon (16), and Kei Nishikori before lost to Andy Murray.

Roger is not done yet! Like I said in my previous post, Roger needs to change his game if he wants to stay on the top. Apparently he did. He approached more to the net. But sometimes, if he had to play the long rallies, he kinda 'pancit' a bit. But as long as he could stop his opponent's rallies by producing superb returns and shots, it should be ok for him.

Andy Murray used to be the fav in this year's Australian Open, but he lost at the earlier rounds. He improved a lot especially on his ground strokes and shot. Its good to see new faces in the finals. Beating Rafa is not easy, Rafa is at his best at the moment but Andy just superb. Also he looked good with his new beard..hehe..x sia2 dapat autograph dia. hehe...

Serena Williams earned her 9th Grand Slam Title

My pick was Serena. I just know she will. Congratulations to her, as she is now the new World no.1. She deserved it. Personally, after the retirement of Justine Henin, either one of the Williams sisters deserve to earn the no.1 spot, based on their previous and consistent achievement. Dinara Safina also might have the chance if she can control her emotions on court cos she have been very consistent throughout 2008 and Elena Dementieva also might if she keep up with her hard work. I don't think that Ana and Jelena are ready to become World no.1. So far, they have been holding that spot for less than a month..just inconsistent.

The shocker:

World no.1 (as at the US Open commenced), Ana Ivanovic was kicked out of he tournament by unseeded player at the 1st round. Shamed!

Another seeded players were defeated during the 1st round, Daniela Hantuchova(11), Shahar Peer (24), Anna Chakvetadze (10), Maria Kirilenko (22), and Virginie Razzano (31).

This by far is my favourite WIMBLEDON. The come back of my beloved MARAT SAFIN and the dramatic and shocking final match.

WELCOME BACK MARAT SAFIN!

Dia sangat HOT & HENSEM ok! He was the two times Grand Slam Champion and former number ONE. When he was on top, he battled with injury that caused him his title and rank. After resting for quite sometime due to knee operation, his joined the back the tour with a hope - to regain his no.1 spot back and more titles. Sadly the operation caused him a lot. He didn't play like his previous game. Probably because of the side effect of the knee injury. Bottom line, everything just went wrong. In fact he also unable to exceed the quarter finals round.

BUT..2008 WIMBLEDON makes him my hero!!Ranked at No. 75, Safin entered the Wimbledon where he defeated Fabio Fognini 6-1, 6-2, 7-6(3) in the first round. In the second round he defeated No. 3 player and 2008 Australian Open Champion Novak Djokovic 6-4, 7-6(3), 6-2. Safin's victory came as a shock as Djokovic was described as a "serious contender" to win the tournament. In the third round, he played the 29th seed Andreas Seppi and beat him 7-6, 3-6, 7-6, 6-4. In the Round of 16 he defeated Stanislas Wawrinka 6-4, 6-3, 5-7, 6-1. This was the first time he had reached the Quarterfinals in a major tournament since the 2005 Australian Open. Safin went on to defeat Feliciano Lopez 3-6, 7-5, 7-6(1), 6-3 in the Quarterfinals to set up a Semifinal clash with defending champion Roger Federer. This reminds me of the 2005 Australian Open Semifinal which Safin won. Unfortunately in Wimbledon, Safin lost the match 6-3, 7-6(3), 6-4. His run to the Semifinals was his best record in Wimbledon and made him the first Russian to ever reach a Wimbledon semifinal.After this run at Wimbledon pushed him back into the Top 40, from a position of #75, he has stated his wish to be seeded for the 2008 US Open (#32 or above).

Owhh..I'm so proud of him. Hanya 4/50 Warren Street saja yg tau mcm ne gile and tak betul i was masa Marat's game. Sanggup download Sopcast ok!..sbb bangang nye foxtel x tunjuk game Marat..hehe. Seriously, when the match between Marat & Roger, i dunno who's gonna win. Obviously berat kat Roger sikit, but in the same time I was thinkin 'lets not underestimate Marat cos he defeated Novak'. Although Marat lost to Roger, I like his sportsmanship spirit during the press conference. He said that Roger is already a legend. Someday he can tell his children and grandchildren he played the great one and he believed that Roger can exceed Sampras's record and become the greatest player in tennis history..Aww..isn't that cute!!!LOVE MARAT SO DAMN VERY MUCH!!

OOps..Venus did it AGAIN!

Venus made her 3rd consecutive Wimbledon title this year, making her 5th Wimbledon title (she also won it in 2000 and 2001. She took her sister Serena Williams in the finals and won it 7-5, 6-4. She has 8-8 win-loss record with Serena.

Gosh! it was a tough final match. As usual..ROGER vs RAFA! All i remembered..i was bersengkang mata..stayed up for the Wimbledon finals.With me not feeling well and tired after MASCA game..AIYA!It was scheduled to start at 10pm..but due to rain, it was delayed. Bayangkan ntah berapa kali game kena delayed. End up it finished around 430am. At first Roger was my damn favourite to win this match because he won the title for 5 consecutive years.

Amazing huh! Plus grass court has always been Roger's favourite and it was also the turning point where he defeated the legendary Pete Sampras in 2001. Since then he was on top of his form and won the title since 2003-2007.

The New Champion:

Rafa led the match with 6-4, 6-4 then the game was delayed due to rain. On the 3rd set, Roger had it with a tie break 6-7(5) and the 4th set with another tie break 6-7(8). It was a damn crazee match where u can't even predict who's gonna win this. Both of them played good tennis with good serves, incredible shots and tremendous skills of volley, topspin and etc. The deciding match was so edgy where they played all out by holding and breaking each other's serve. OMGG...!!Finally Rafa won the title with a very close call 9-7.

My humble thoughts:

Its difficult to be Roger Federer! He has been undefeated for 5 years except for the French Open. People studied his game, his serve and everything about him. He has won 12 Grand Slam title, 4 ATP Masters Cup and 14 ATP Masters Series. Mana tak org geram kat dia..In the same time he is also under pressure of trying to challenge himself to break Pete Sampras's Grand Slam record of 14 Grand Slam. TMTH (too much too hande). Personally I thought Roger could excees Sampras's record, but lately we can tell that he is pushing too hard in each game to win in. Yeah! I agree that maybe its Roger's time or maybe its time for new World no.1. But looking at his achievement, I really hope that at least he could make the record even with Sampras although he is now being looked as one of the legend. To make that happen, in my humble opinion Roger need to find new strategy for his game. Just like the product life cycle (PLC), when the product is already at the maturity stage, it can either be declined that way or new strategy being invented. There is still one more title to come the US OPEN..Good luck Roger!

French Open 2008 (Roland Garros)

By now, everybody knows who won the French Open 2008. Non other than RAFAEL NADAL (clap!clap!). He was in the finals against the great Roger Federer. It was really sad that of all of the major Grand Slam title won by Roger, French Open not in the list. Not gonna talk bout either Roger or Rafa, obviously they are the 2 best players in the world. Just highlighting the outstanding players produced by the tournaments. Outstanding as in these players gave hard time to seeded players and even beat them..and the drums goes to:

GAEL MONFILS

He's a Frenchman born on the 1st September 1986. He ranked as top 50 players in the world. He used to be the world’s No. 1 junior, winning three of four junior Grand Slam events (Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon) in 2004.

This by far was his best performance ever where he reached his first semifinal for the first time in any Grand Slam. On his way he defeated Arnaud Clement (he is one of the best doubles player), Luis Horna, Jurgen Melzer as well as the 28th seed Ivan Ljubicic and the 5th seed David Ferrer who he defeated 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 and 6-1. In the semifinals he was defeated in a very closely match by Roger Federer 2-6, 7-5, 3-6 and 5-7. The match was great, both players played really well but u can tell that experience separated them.

His trademarks are ------> obviously his hair and his sliding strokes.

DINARA SAFINA

She is known as the youngest and the only sister of Marat Safin (former world no.1 and two times grand slam champion). She is a singles and doubles player on tour. In 2002 she made it to the top 100 players and broke in top 50 players in 2003. And yet she remained save in that position until the year 2007.

2008 definitely is a good year for Dinara as she was ranked as the no.16 player in the world early of the year. She also became the hottest player that being talked about where she defeated World no.1 and top seed Justine Henin in the Qatar Telecom German Open. Safina managed to battle from being 5–7, 0–2 down to win the match 5–7, 6–3, 6–1. This victory was Safina's career victory over a reigning world No.1, and arguably her biggest victory of her career, considering her opponent and the surface. Justine is the best female player in the clay court. This also made Safina the last player ever to play against and beat Henin before she retired.

Dinara Safina has never exceeded the Quarter Finals round in any Grand Slam in her career. But the 2008 French Open turned it around. She started off the tournament as the 13th seed. In the 4th round , Safina defeated World no.1 Maria Sharapova (she got the title prior to the announcement of Justine Henin's retirement two weeks before the French Open commenced) 6–7, 7–6, 6–2, saving a match point at 5–3 down in the second set, marking her second victory over a World No. 1 in less than two months.

In the quarter-finals, Dinara stunningly battled back from the brink of defeat for a second straight match to earn a place in her first Grand Slam semi-final at the French Open, coming from 5–2 down in the second set to defeat fellow Russian, Elena Dementieva 4–6, 7–6, 6–0.

She entered her first grand slam final by defeating another Russian player, the 4th seed Svetlana Kuznetsova 6–3, 6–2 in a one-sided semi-final match at Roland Garros. Despite of having a hot brother like Marat Safin (ni ayat tambah je..hehe), Dinara has defeated all the female Russian players (Maria, Elena & Svetlana) in a Grand Slam Championship. In the final she was beaten 6-4, 6-3 by the 2007 finalist Ana Ivanovic.After Roland Garros, Safina became the only player ranked inside the top 10 in both singles and doubles.

Rafael Nadal became just the second player in ATP Masters Series history (since 1990) to win both singles and doubles titles at the same event after he and Tommy Robredo defeated Mahesh Bhupathi & Mark Knowles 6-3, 6-3 in the doubles final.

In an intriguing battle between the power forehands of Nadal and Robredo and the fast and sure hands of doubles specialists Bhupathi and Knowles, raw power slowly but surely won the day. And when Bhupathi received treatment at 3-3 in the second set for a right groin injury that severely restricted his movement, it became certain that the Spaniards would march on to victory.

Nadal joins Jim Courier (1991 Indian Wells) as the only players to win both titles in an ATP Masters Series tournament (since 1990).

Nadal is the first player to win singles and doubles titles in the same tournament this year. (There were four last year.)

He is the first player to win both titles in Monte Carlo since Ilie Nastase in 1973.

Bhupathi and Knowles, who were contesting their fourth final in their past five tournaments, would have risen to first place in the Stanford ATP Doubles Race had they won their third title of the year. Instead they now sit just two points behind Race leaders Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram, the Israeli Australian Open champions.

Robredo said: "I'm very happy about winning my first Masters Series doubles title. Winning it in Monte-Carlo and playing with Rafa makes it extra special because one of our goals is to compete in the Olympics and win a medal for our country, so this is the first step."-atptennis.com

Another victory for the Spaniard

MONTE CARLO: Rafael Nadal won an historic fourth successive Monte Carlo Masters title yesterday as he defeated world number one Roger Federer 7-5, 7-5 in the latest instalment of their epic rivalry.

The 21-year-old triple French Open champion came back from 0-4 down in the second set to achieve his third successive final victory over Federer in the principality and his 22nd win in a row in the tournament.

It was also his ninth win in 15 career meetings with the world's top player and his seventh in eight claycourt clashes.

The last man to win four Monte Carlo titles in a row was New Zealand's Anthony Wilding in 1914 but Nadal, who now has 24 career titles, is the first man to complete the feat in the Open era.

“It's hard to imagine winning this title for four years in a row,” said Nadal. “But Roger played a great match. We always have good finals.”

Federer, who was laid low by glandular fever earlier this year and lost his Australian Open title, was full of praise for his opponent.

“I have to congratulate Rafa. It seems to be the same thing every year here,” he said.

The top seed grabbed the break, and a 4-3 lead, when Nadal, off balance, could only send a lob long.

However, the 21-year-old Nadal again retrieved the break, helped by a fortunate net cord which wrong-footed the advancing Federer, to pull level at 4-4.

Nadal was now in the ascendancy and created two set points in the 12th game when Federer, who hit 20 unforced errors to 11 in the opener, unleashed a sloppy backhand.

The set was the Spaniard's after 51 minutes when he met a deep Federer volley with a sliced backhand of his own.

Federer, who had been within two points of a shock defeat in his opening match against another Spaniard, world number 137 Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo, broke Nadal in the first game of the second set and backed it up with a hold to lead 2-0.

In a topsy-turvy final, the 12-time Grand Slam title winner broke again to lead 3-0, held for 4-0 but then allowed his opponent to hit back to 4-4 on the back of two breaks of his own.

Both men then held on but Federer cracked in the 12th game and handed Nadal the title with a loose backhand.

Haha..ok ok..baru nk update ----> Guilty!!

Went to Sydney on the 26th-30th March last month. At first I though it would be enuff lepak 4 days there coz somebody told me that "ala..sydney xde pe sgt, xde byk tpt nk jalan sgt.."..so i bought tix for 4 days trip la..BUT..hampehh..didnt get enough time ok..y? keep on scrolling!!

Went there with Mr. Surprise, Mr. Bear & Mr. Manners..they also said not enough time spent there..anyway, here are my conclusion about Sydney..no offence, what ever written down are my opinion and i felt/experienced it...kalau x suka...suka hati gua la..blog gua beb! x setuju bukak blog sendiri..hehe

Max Brenner

Obviously., Max Brenner! Before went there heard rumors that no Max Brenner in Sydney, tu la..idup asyik dgr rumours je..Thank God ! ada....yeay...only my face could tell how satisfied I was after melantak my waffles..!

Krispy Kreme

Hehe...Max Brenner and Krispy Kreme comes together. Guess what! end of this month Krispy Kreme will be launched here..in Brisbane!so, after this..xde la org2 brissy naik flight from mlbrne/sydney angkut dozens of donuts..

Fish Market

No word can describe how satisfied I was at Fish Market. Good food, fresh food...balik frm Sydney terus nk mkn udang n seafood je..Tgh simpan duit ni..nk pegi sydney balik, just to eat at fish market lagi..SLuRRp!

N.A.O.M.I

I love the N.A.O.M.I..they let me stayed at their place, walaupun br kenal. mula agak segan..then ntah mcm ne..masa sesi berkenalan terbukak psal gossip..pe lg...GURRLSS..terus mesraaa...haha!!anyway, before i went heard lotsa nice stuff bout them..nnt dtg brisbane lepak at my place pulak ye..Thanks to O.M.I..bwk jln2 around city..especially to Fish Market. I can tell, they looked so surprise when they saw we really enjoyed our meal..haha. As for N its ok..understood, u got commitment(bakal politician in few yrs,active berpersatuan..haha).As for A pulak...thanks for fetching us frm airport and sending us to the airport. Bondi Beach

Only heard bout the name BONDI BEACH. Keep thinking..apa best sgt tpt tu..ntah2 mcm beach biasa je..Definitely not ok.The beach was sgt cool..the weather was great..ada la tergedik kejap, who knows i might bumped into any of hollywood celeb ke kan..---Dream on!--also, the surfers was hot..sgt best cuci mata and the wave was whalla..

Coogee Beach

Coogee Beach just like 5-10mins drive frm the NAOMIs. Its more like a relax beach..ala tempat bercinta..haha..eleeh..mr.surprise suka la tu..opss!!i love the wind.tp kan..the surrounding reminds me a bit of video clip westlife - if i let u go --->especially part the the waves hit the batu..

Opera House

People said, mmg loser la if u got to Sydney tp x pegi cam-whoring at Opera House. Even my mom pun pesan, make sure amik pics at the opera house and bridge.Done!

Harbour Bridge

Hehe..actually we went to the Opera House & Bridge twice. On the 2nd night and 3rd day afternoon. Just wanna see the lights and snapped some pics(err...some la sgt kan)..haha. The challenging part was snapping pics at night. Thanks to sifu camera specialised without flash --> me...haha!suka la mr.bear & mr.manners tu...being snapped good pics.hah..lps ni send kat awek masing2 ye...haha.tp lama2 they got the technique...nice pic!

Chinese Garden

I love Chinese Garden. I used to berangan wanna wear all these Chinese emperor and Mulan thingy. Finally got it.The mens/kings costumes came with the sword, but the womens/queens costumes came with --err..a FAN! eww..kipas...ni kipas yg ala tarian kipas tu.hell no..i want that sword. tp x boleh tukar..so, what i did was, i took one of their sword, and kept it with me.baru la mulan ok.then all the pics that i took suma ala warrior wannabe until the mr.bear & mr. manners sound 'eeii..dia ni dr td asyik nk jadi warrior..nk bunuh org je'...so what??padan muka kena bunuh...tgk pics atas kalau x percaya..

Featherdale

The funny part bout this, i can get kangaroos, koalas n wallabies at brisbane. jln jauh2, kat sydney baru jmpa..its ok, can compare those sydney animals and brisbane's animals pulak kan..

Darling Harbour

The development at Darling Harbour area sgt superb!Very nice..and cool..it was like a stretch of nice buildings, rivers etc.

The Sengal About Sydney

1. Transportation
Thank God I live in Brisbane...there No concessions, unfriendly bus drivers, drive bus pening...haiyaa!!crazyyy...Then only we realised how greatful we are to live in brisbane..where we can get $2.70 concession bus tix DAILY..whereas there we paid for $3 per SINGLE TRIP, and if nk beli daily tix $16..gilerr...even adults tix daily pun baru $5 kat sini. Kalau naik bus, muka drivers sorang2 cengeng je..x friendly langsung..until we met this driver as we were from Bondi Beach heading towards the city. Driver ni very friendly and make sure kitaorg trn at the right stop. dengar sini suma I LOVE BRISBANE..

2. Building Structure
Buildings kat city itself sangat pening. I dunno its just me or what(probably just me..)..for a 1st timer to Sydney like me..i found it memang pening. Unlike Melbourne..I love Melbourne better. Let say i got lost kat Melbourne, at least i know mana nk cari..just look for Flinders Street/Federation Square and go from there. Tapi kat Sydney..memang nana sesat. Nk tanya org mcm bkn diaorg x tolong,ada tu kasi silap info, ada tu x layan...I dunno where to go.. :(

3. Hard Rock Cafe
Ni lagi satu hampehh...dh semangat nk pegi lepak kat HRC Sydney, almost one hour pusing..rupanye HRC dh a month tutup. memang bangang ok...sakit jiwa! I wasn't surprise dah shut down, because that area doesnt look like a good area for HRC..tersangat la dodgy...mcm rupa rumah kedai je..x pun rumah tumpangan..

Hmm..I guess that's pretty much about Sydney...

Haha...dh sebulan++ x update blog. Ye la, masa semua balik Malaysia I was so depressed..blog was my bestfren. Now semua dah balik to Brissy...terlupa kejap..hehe...actually xde la lupa..didn't get the chance to update je..(sorry to those yg bising bila nk update)...x sangka...ramai gak eh yg baca...ni yg ahkak makin seronok ni...

Finally..FINAL SEM..kdg2 rs..cepat la grad..tired and sick of being here..but kdg2 seronok dok sini...sometimes feel like sick n tired of studying, whereas my colleague suma climbing up their jobs..unlike me...dh ada keje...quit sbb nk smbg studies. Now, am thinking..bila grad nnt, boleh ke dpt keje?senang ke?worse come to worst masuk Maybank/Astro balik..but, dont letak harapan tinggi sgt.manatau x dpt ..ok ok..sem ni enrolled for courses MGTS7001 (independent report) and my topic is Implementing the Modern Marketing Mix (7Ps) in Sports Event, MGTS7006 (strategic sport management) - looking for placement at the moment and EVNT7000 (principal of event management).

Davis Cup 2008

Davis Cup just started last weekend from 9th-11th Feb. Hmm..pretty much exciting, although baru 1st round..kembali bertapa depan tv. Well..my fav teams would be:

The Serbians

Because the whole team consist of young players like Djokovic, Tipsarevic & Troiki..but..they lost 3-2 to Russian. It was kalah sipi, the serbian could've won, but Djokovic wasn't well and he had to retire. Tipsarevic had an ankle injury during training and only Troiki fit..but, kalau dh 1st round against Russian..mmg tough match.

The Frenchmen

Because they have almost perfect team. Maksud nye, they have originally singles and doubles player. The new star Tsonga and Gasquet played single while Clement & Llodra played doubles and they were the Australian Open 2008 doubles Runner-Up. Perfect team!

The Russians

Yeay...this is my fav team. Well, as usual if u ask me why, as u can see MARAT SAFIN is in the team..haha!!He was called last minute to join back the Davis Cup Team like 2 weeks before the tournament. Marat supposed to play doubles with Tursunov but unfortunately he got injured while training. Actually the injuries started since the Aussie Open last Jan 08. Anyway, Davydenko and Youzhny played really well. I am happy that Russia got through to quarter finals somewhere in April. Yeay!!xpe....training lagi..kasi menang. Russia was 2007 Davis Cup runner up. Get well soon Marat..rindu wanna watch u play..haha....Good luck!!

Me & My Sushi

Ok..semlm rs down.Tp today i felt better.nama plak mood swing kan,kejap elok kejap tak. So, sbb mood dh ok, tiba2 rasa lapar. I got myself sushi at Sushi Train, Toowong. Every Monday & Tuesday, 1st week of each month, Sushi Train ada wat promo $2 on the train dan sgt murah & best. Actually semlm dh pegi, dine in..tp bila dh campur stress yg x tau psal apa, appetite tu xde sgt. But today, I really rasa like having sushi. So around pukul 530pm pegi beli tapau bwk balik. Dah la hujan, makin lapar la kan. As I reached home, pegi shower sbb kena hujan..and made myself hot Earl Grey Tea. Then lepak dpn tv sambil mkn sushi...yummy..!So sekarang mood pun dah ok.. :)

Ok..I dunno y..I think my mood xbetul.X psal mcm rasa nk marah.Tp lps tu ok balik..then tiba2 nk marah..I guess that's y they called it MOOD SWING!Pastu kalau tiba angin dtg x tau nk buat apa.
Slalu kalau mood swing pegi je main tennis.Rasa lega if i get to hit the balls.Sbb i always picture the balls mcm muka org yg i'm angry at. Masalahnye kat brisbane ni, nama je summer..tp asyik hujan.Dah jadi mcm raining season plak.Nak main tennis court basah...alaa..lg pun nk stroke dgn sapa kalau x hujan.No one kat sini..suma kat M'sia. Hmm...maybe jugak sebab xde org kat sini for 3 months and i have nothing to do except keje(ala...keje pun sometimes nk break kan, tp xde member nk berjoli)....or maybe jugak my mood swing was caused by..nk period kot.eii..ntah la!!

Actually i got byk menda nk crite n post..tp feel tu xde lagi..mood pun unstable..i really wanna release myself at court. and now i miss sangat my frens ms kat uitm dulu..mcm ayu, jie, yop, muzri, kak emi, kak jo, tarmizi,abg pian etc..if i'm not in the mood..just pegi court and diaorg mesti ada..not necessarry diaorg pegi court to stroke(but mostly utk stroke la)..sometimes..just hang around..lepak2..chit chat..paling suma dh sangap, suma gerak pi lepak kat Hakim Sec 7..at least everybody got something to plan..and ada someone to talk to.....but...here...different!even things are different after suma grad kan..

Ermm..whut the hell yg nana bebel kan...really i have no idea.Or maybe i just miss my frens..I dunno!

Finals : Novak Djokovic Vs Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

WINNER : NOVAK DJOKOVIC

Congratz Novak. Novak aka Nole(nickname dia) played very well throughout this tournament. He came out with extraordinary shots, big serves, unbelievable footwork and amazing volleys. He took care of the greatest player on earth, Roger Federer with a straight set (semis), David Ferrer (5) at the quarter finals, former world no.1 Lleyton Hewit (4^th round), Benjamin Becker (dia ni ada masa agak bahaya gak la) and other 2 unseeded players. He used to defeat Roger at one of 2007 Atp match. I think, if one day, Roger were to step down from his crown, Novak might get his chance. Think back, he improved A LOT..back in 2005, he was sent home at the 1^st round by Marat Safin (2005 Aussie Open Champ). At that time he was 17yrs old. Look how he turned into... This world no.3 really deserved what he got now. I like him cos besides his performance he has this unique personality. He is an entertainer and player. More to see from u NOVAK!

Novak defeated:

Roger Federer - a straight set semi finals match. Actually, I want Roger to win. Mmg la ada suara2 bising kata asyik Roger je mng..dh brp thn dh, kasi kat new champ pulak. Yeah, I agree..I do want to see new champions..tp Roger ada lagi 3 grand slam title that he have to win in order to break Pete Sampras’s grand slam records. See, sbb tu la nana Roger to win..just a little bit more steps to become secure himself as tennis legend(although now he already be seen as legend). Hmm..ms semis tu, tune Roger agak lari sikit..not like as his usual game..dunno y?maybe sbb court baru ke..or maybe still shocked with his match dgn Tipsarevic..Anyway, after his loss, rs nye Roger would double-up his work..and he will be stronger than he used to. Maybe sbb sblm ni he always got the so-called easy match and x being challenged..after this..confirm Roger dh plan new strategy.GO ROGER!

David Ferrer - I though David Ferrer would gave Novak hard time at the quarters. Tp xde la sgt as Novak won straight set. David started a bit slow, towards the end of the 2rd set baru engine nak panas…but already late..

RUNNER UP : JO-WILFRIED TSONGA

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga??Who the hell is he???...Yeah baby!!He is the talk of the town, even now..after the game ended. The 22yrs old Frenchman came into the tournament as unseeded player, has been played outstandingly as he defeated Top 10 players on his way to the finals. He caught attention at the very 1^st round where he defeated Andy Murray (9) in a 5 set match. Then he took care of 2 unseeded players at the 2^nd & 3^rd round. At the 4^th round he defeated Richard Gasquet (8), followed by Mikhail Youzhny (14). But what really WOW’s the tennis world was when he defeated world no.2 Rafael Nadal at the semis with a straight set match. Yeah, we all know how Rafa’s game is, aggressive and fast ball. Jo-Wilfried just managed to tame Rafa. Even Rafa can’t do anything with his shots and volleys. He done it damn well! Actually, I wanted Jo-Wilfried to win sbb his journey was like a Cinderella version of tennis. Kira mcm nk, the underdog to win the championship. Factors that might caused Jo-Wilfried kalah, maybe sebab..this is his 1^st grand slam final, surely nervous..where as Novak has been in the finals environment before, he knew what to expect. Then most of the audiences supported him..pressure!add plak dgn review’s from media and all. Also, he broke Novak’s comfortable zone sbb Novak x pernah dropped a set in the tournament. At least ms final, Jo-Wilfried did got the 1^st set. Tp kan, if he played mcm ne he played Rafa ms semis, yeah..dia boleh menang. Its ok..good experience for him. Due to his outstanding performances, he climbed up from the 38^th rank to 18^th in the world. But, if let say he won the title, dia akan naik rank no.9…Yeah..overall, I did enjoyed the finals, and hope to see more from him. He got potentials to go far. Keep up the good work..jgn jd star for one grand slam je..stay consistent!!

Womens Final

Finals : Maria Sharapova vs AnaIvanovic

WINNER : MARIA SHARAPOVA

Maria Sharapova nailed the game. Nana xde la fancy dia sgt (although guys really like her..maybe bkn sbb apapun..sbb grunting dia jerr…’aah..aaaah..ahh…come on!’,,huh..guys!), but being an observer, she deserved to win because she has been very consistent. Consistent as in producing a lot of big serves and good shots. Its good to know that she recovered from her shoulder injury last year which had cost her losing few tournaments. Ye la, last year’s Aussie Open she was the 1^st seeded sbb Justine Henin x main due to her marriage & divorcing stuff. At that time Maria was world no. 2…tup tup..sbb injury..year end she was down to no.5. Yeah, although Maria won this Grand Slam, she still remains at world no.5. Congratulations! You’ve done a great job by picking up what u left at the Aussie Open 2007 finals after losing the title to Serena Williams and all the best throughout the year!

Quarterfinals : Maria defeated Justine Henin

Although she lost to Maria during the quarter-finals, she still remains world no.1. Terus terang, at beginning, I really wanted Justine to win sbb she my idol..and I loike her very much. She just got this superb Single Back-handed return. During the quarter finals game, things doesn’t seem so right for her..she made a lot of unforced error, her shots asyik kena net, and backhand dia x menjadi. But, its ok…its still early of 2008, more games and titles to come..Luv ya Justine!!

Semifinals : Maria defeated Jelena Jankovic

This Jelena last year, during the Aussie Open, xde la among of the fav players. Amazingly, she did took some great chances and by year end 2007 she was world no3. But not for long as after this tournaments she is down to no.4. See..how a tournament could change player’s rank. Jelena played consistently and I could call her ‘player TABAH’ as she struggled with her injuries from the Hopman Cup carried forward to this tournament. She doesn’t move a lot, but she produced really good shot to her opponents, Also she played doubles. Tp kalah. She defeated last year’s champion Serena Williams at the quarter finals round. During the semis, actually she played well, maybe due to fitness and injuries she couldn’t perform well. Tapi apa pun, I’m still proud of u Jelena!

RUNNER UP : ANA IVANOVIC

Runner up is the beauty Ana Ivanovic. She played well, and consistent too. To me, the final was actually the battle of 2 consistent players. Ana gave hard time to Maria, they had almost similar game plan mcm big serves, deep shots etc. But in the end of the day, we only need one winner. Although Ana lost, she should be proud of herself cos now she is rank no2 in the world. Not bad huh..Good luck!!

Quarterfinals: Ana defeated Venus Williams

Venus Williams at the quarter finals round. This is the best quarter finals. Venus kalah sipi je. Actually, if at the final Ana played mcm she played ms lwn Venus, she could win the match.

Semifinals: Ana defeated Daniela Hantuchova

Finally, Daniela came out from her ‘save spot’. Dia ni mcm nk kata x terer, terer,,,tp kdg2 mcm xde improvement. She produced good shots and volley, her serve pun not bad. She improved a lot. Sepanjang previous Grand Slam, she never got through the quarter finals round. Good for her that she made it to the semis. Hmm..ms dia kalah dgn Ana Nampak sgt dia agak bengang..Maybe she wanted to go to the finals badly(sapa x nk kan)..All the best Daniela.

The Promising Players

Definitely Jo-Wilfried Tsonga...Should I say more...??

Who is Agnieszka Radwanska? Dia start glamer after defeated Maria Sharapova at the Us Open at the 3^rd round. Since then she has been consistently improving her game. I saw her on her training, shots dia mmg superb. Throughout this tournament, she defeated 2 unseeded players(without dropping a set) and 2 seeded players. Seeded players she defeated was Svetlana Kuznetsova (3) with straight set and Nadia Petrova (12) in a 3 set game. I called her female version of Federer, sbb she remain calm and her face xde expression bila main. But, the calmness tu la yg buat dia menang. Masa dia lwn Petrova, she was down 1^st set, 2^nd set Petrova leading 3-0..sikit lg nk menang, but then the calmness saved her..drag to 3rd set and she got through it. Although she lost to Daniela Hantuchova at the quarter finals round, she did sent warning to the Top 10 players. Now she climbed up from rank no.28 to no.21...Go Girl!!

Who is Maria Kirilenko? She got solid stroke and she defeated Anna Chakvetadze (6).

Who is Marin Cilic? He performed not as outstanding as Jo-Wilfired Tsonga, but he played well when he defeated 2007 finalist Fernando Gonzalez. Hmm..he reminds me of Mario Ancic. Will keep an eye on him as well.

VOTED AS THE MOST SHOCKING MATCH 2008!

Who is Janko Tipsarevic? He was crowned the Australian Open 2001 Boys Champion, 23yrs of age, and a Serbian player. Janko Tipsarevic dragged Roger Federer into a 5^th set match. Federer has never dropped a set since 2004 was pushed to the limit. I was damn berdebar2 ok….every shot tu sangat menakutkan. Janko played well, as he was given some tips from Novak (cz Novak used to play Federer in few matches) earlier before the game, on how to handle Roger’s shot. Looks like Novak has been doing some homework here. I guess…Roger’s n Rafa’s strategy is no longer safe now. They really have to improvise their game plan to remain at top.

Magical World Of Tennis

The 1^st Grand Slam of the year almost comes to the end. Dengan syok sendiri & agak over nye, I’ve created an interview session about my magical moments of the Australian Open 2008 (AO08)!!(bile lg nk ada interview session sendiri kaaan…..muahaaha).

Me: So, pegi Melbourne to watch AO08 this year?

Nana: As the matter of fact, Yeah, I did.Went there on the 17^th & 18^th January 2008.

Me: Apsal tiba2 mengada nak pegi pulak?

Nana: At first, xde rasa sgt nak pegi, but then after I watched the Hopman Cup’s match, tiba2 rasa..Hey, I should go…! Apa lg..terus book flight tix and beli the game tix. It all happened in a day..haha!!

Me: Ok la, we start with your expectation before the game commences. Sebenarnye gedik nk tgk sapa?

Nana: I was looking forward to watch players such as Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Marat Safin, Fernando Gonzalez, Justine Henin, Ana Ivanovic, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Venus Williams, Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Jelena Jankovic…etc.

Me: Ceh, x agak2..nk tgk star players je. So, did u get your shots?

Nana: Hell Yeah, I’ve watched and meet players in two different occasions, first masa live matches diaorang and when they went on for training. I’ve seen the matches of Novak Djokovic, Daniela Hantuchova, Maria Sharapova, Venus Williams, Serena Williams, David Nalbandian, Amelie Mauresmo, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Fernando Gonzalez and few more unseeded players. The best thing pegi AO08 masa early rounds ni, I also got the chance to watch players went on training to prepare themselves before games. I bumped into players such as Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Ana Ivanovic, James Blake, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Maria Kirilenko, Benjamin Becker, Agnieska Radswanka, Marcos Baghdatis and Andy Murray. 2 players just passed me, tp x sempat buat apa..x sempat amik pics or signature sbb diaorg lalu je..that was Lindsay Davenport and Lleyton Hewitt.

Me: Hmm..I can imagine your kegedikan after seeing them. Can u tell how gedik u was at that time?

Nana: Owh, u really wanna know??jgn jeles..hehe…I was really..really excited. Moment paling gedik when I met Marat Safin. Time tu he just finished training as that particular nite dia lwn dgn Marcos Baghdatis. Sbb really like him,,I dunno where I got the energy, I pushed the 2 big security guys and stood betul2 in front of Marat and asked him to sign my program book..he gave me this sweet smile and signed..OMG..he is so hot! Sangat suka kan dia since 1997.He is tall + hensem + sweet + charming..*wink*wink*. Tapi bangang x bangang, I couldn’t snap his picture coz my camera’s battery running low. Damn!! But still, I did get his signature…thehehe!! The other signatures like Svetlana Kuznetsova, Maria Kirilenko and Andy Murray were easy... Tapi the best moment of a lifetime happened was…I met the best player on earth ok..Roger Federer..He signed on my program book and tennis cap. Lepas dia sign tu kan, I asked him ‘Roger, can we take picture?’ and he said ‘YES’…OMGGG….haha..!!Know what, after snapped je pic with Roger, my camera rosak..I guess my camera was shocked got to snap Roger’s picture. Luckily all of the pics saved into the memory cards. Level of gedik…well..I guess I was really gedik after I met Federer and Safin. I’ve been calling my family back home, and harassing few frens including Nadia Gale (which she went with me to watch AO07)…suma bengang!

Me : Hm..Comment la sikit about some of the players u met?

Nana: Boleh jerr…

Roger Federer - Very down to earth. Was really nice to his fans..he really have the quality of being a top player. Respect giler.

Novak Djokovic - He is so funny. Have a good sense of humor. Tak sombong.

James Blake - Another respected player when it comes to melayan fans. Dia tgh training sanggup stop and sign autograph and had chat with his fan

Fernando Gonzalez - He is nice. But there was this match he played against Korean player, fans dia terlalu fanatic sampai they turned frm tennis crowd to soccer crowd until Fernando x boleh main. Obviously he looked angry with his own crowd, tp dia x leh marah..and I saw the other side of his personality…bertukar menjadi temper + garang.

Me : How was the environment there?

Nana : Similar to last year. Nothing much changed. As usual ada booth Garnier, Optus, Kia, souvenire, Australian Post, etc. but there was an additional booth which was Nike booth. As usual lots of people queue for Garnier’s and Optus were giving out the mini banners. Then ada Big Screen in the middle of the Melbourne Park, trivia pictures of the previous winners etc. Bottom line, it was an exciting and happening environment.

Me : Did u get any souvenirs from there?

Nana : Yeap! I got myself an AO08 towels, lanyard, keychain and t-shirt.

Me: Ok la..menyampah eh tgk gedik sangat…sengeeeh je memanjang. Last question, are you planning to watch AO09 next year?

Nana: Insya Allah. I really can’t plan, cz if I said no, tp last minit pegi..nnt kena kata mengada plak..mcm thn ni laa…haha!Anyway, I really hope that I could come back toRod Laver Arena next year. But in the same time, I do plan to go for another Grand Slams like the French Open, Wimbledon and US Open. Don’t worry, If i have another plan, I’ll call u again to interview me *wink*..

Expect The Unexpected

Wow!In just one night I'm all done for my vacation next week. I'm going to Melbourne for the 3rd time.Isn't that crazy!!Specifically, I'm going to watch the Tennis Australian Open 2008..OMG!! I know, I know..I've been telling my friends that I'm not going to watch the game live this year..sebab dah pergi last year..I'm sorry!!That is just too good to resist...hahaha!! How does this happened??Ok macam ni...last Thursday, after came back from work, I switched on the TV and the Hopman Cup, Perth was on. It was a good mixed double match where France took on Serbia. Novak Djokovic & Jelena Jankovic played for Serbia. Dah la Jankovic tgh injured bcos she retired her singles game earlier..Suddenly, she survived and gave a good match and the Serbians won. All of sudden, I was inspired by the fighting spirit and the great match..and I thought, this might be the preview for the Grand Slam..x kan x pergi kot..bila lagi...next year dah balik Malaysia, mmg xde chance la nk pergi.That night, I booked myself a flight tickets, 2 day sessions match tickets and an overnite bookings at Malaysia Hall...haha...memang gila.

Many people asked 'Aik..kenapa pergi 2 hari je?'..First..sbb sayang nk tinggal keje...haha...money money money money money(ikut lagu The Apprentice). Second, sbb last year already watched match at Rod LaverArena, so this year nk merasa masuk Vodafone Arena pulak. Third, last year went for qtr & semis, players dh x berapa ramai, if pergi early round,players ramai giler..matches pun banyak..plus..the earlier rounds u go, the cheaper price for the tickets.Owh ye, i got seats at the player's entrance-lower levels..if u so happen to see me gedik2 at TV,just ignore ok.huhu. Fourthly, financial planning..haha..sebab kalau dok sana lama2 nnt duit habis..mmg budget x nk shipping,just pegi & tgk matches je..!OMG...soooo excited!!

Happy New Year Everybody!!

At first I dont feel like going to watch the fireworks coz it has been raining for few days and it really spoilt my mood. Then Nurul, Bijan, Abu and Joe wanted to go and I was like..ikut je la.Nurul, Bijan & Abu went out earlier at 730pm..mcm awal sgt je. So me and Joe decided to join later. At 10pm me and Joe went to the city. Nurul, Bijan and Abu were are Apit's place because of rain. So we split and plan to meet up at Southbank around 11.45pm. I was really hungry, me and Joe then went to Pancake Manors to get some food. Good thing happened (is it a sign for a good year ahead...?haha). The waiter lost our order, and when he wanted to ask our order again, he said he was sorry and we'll get 50% discount for the food and free drinks....wowweheee!! End up we only paid $11 for all of our food..Haha!!! After finished eating, we went to Southbank to join with the others..Nothing much for the new year eve!!

The Best of 2007!!

What can I say..its the end of 2007. Rasa mcm semlm je baru pegi celebrate new year 2006 at South Bank. Time passed by so damn quickly. Lots of memories throughout 2007. Well, banyak jugak activities yg best & cool throughout 2007. Each and every events really brought its own memories..

Patriotism

Merdeka Night was held on 8th September 2007 at the Brisbane Exhibition & Convention Centre (BCEC). Ia nya agak grand la due to Malaysia 50th Independence Celebration. Everything went good..the food was good. They served a totally Malaysian dish, ada kerabu, kuih muih melayu. Everyone dressed beautifully and sangat la patriotic. What I noticed, the Chinese nk pkai baju kurung, the Malays nk pakai Sari and the Indians nk pkai Cheongsam..and it circles around that..haha!how cool to be in a multi-cultural country. Masa ni la all the pure Malaysian..Malay+Chinese+ Indian get together. Yang best even local people 'the mat salehs' also ada yg dtg to celebrate the event. As usual, ada traditional dance performance, live band performance by the 'Botai Band', lucky draw (main draw was MAS return ticket to Malaysia..tp x dpt..not lucky enuff). Personally the best perfoemance for the night was the slide show presentation, where they showed all of the Patriotic Ads (mostly from Petronas ads) dari dulu sampai yg latest, sangat cute but so meaningful.

Friends get together!

Tahun ni byk betul activity get together and lepak2..It started from the arrival of new students on February. Ramai giler ok. All of them are undergraduate students, bdk2 scholar from MARA, Petronas, JPA and not to forget scholar PAMA..haha.

After that followed by Nurul's Birthday Party + House warming (March), Birthday budak2 lahir bulan April, Sarah's Farewell Part (July), Tasia's Birthday Party (September) and banyak lg la activity get together organised by clubs like UMNO, PPMQ, UQMSA & MASCA.

Intervarsity Games

Intervarsity Games (IVG) was organised by MASCA. MASCA stands for Malaysian Student Council & Association..(err..betul ke?betul kot..hehe). Every year akan ada games among states in Australia, involving Malaysian students. IVG ni kind of selection for those that will represents Queensland in MASCA Game. Bdk2 from Unii around Queensland compete with each other mcm UQ, QUT, GU, Bond Uni etc. Sports involved mcm Netball, Soccer, Futsal, Badminton, Table Tennis, Basketball, Squash, Volleyball, Tennis and etc.

For IVG I played Tennis, Table Tennis, Voleyball and Futsal. Mmg meriah and everybody were in the 'team spirit mood'..haha!Most of the team event was a mixture of boys and gals except the single/individual game. For volleyball our team (me, anas, abg jijoe, bijan, pinky and ira ) got the 1st place..Yeay! For tenis doubles me and ayeep lost 6-4 to doubles rahim&lingesh. I didnt won anything for Futsal but I won the 1st place for women's table tennis single...Yeay again!!Just after the last game MASCA provided us with a cool BBQ and prize giving session at Guyatt Park. Apa pun, it doesnt matter whether menang or kalah, coz in the end of the day, we have to put in the fighting spirit for Queensland. QUEENSLAND ROAR!!

Vacations

Easter Day we went to Hervey Bay for camping. Convoy sampai 3 kereta..hehe. It was ok..buat camp fire tepi laut, mandi kat beach. It was only a night camping, then the day after as we were on the way back to Brisbane, kitaorg terlalu pulak kat Tin Can Bay and we stopped for a while. Rupanye Tin Can Bay ni lagi cool. They had this boat to go fishing and every morning at 8am ada session for Dolphin feeding..aargh..rugi giler! Tp x pe, we are planning our next trip to Tin Can Bay soon..hehe!!

Last November, we went for picnic at Coolongatta. Its further up sikit je from Gold Coast, serius ok..the beach sangat cantik. We brought some food for lunch, the terus mandi dan air nye sangggat sejuuk..Since the place is very beautiful, ada this group of people were having wedding ceremony...COOL!!

Celebrations

As usual, when it comes to Ramadhan, Pasar Ramadhan is compulsory..mcm x sah kalau xde pasar ramdhan..haha!!It was organised by Kelab UMNO Queensland. Pasar Ramadhan took place every Saturday evening at Guyatt Park. The response were really good, ramai akak2 & abg postgraduate berniaga as well as the undergrads. Mcm2 manu ada, well for us yg dok jauh ni kan, at least we still got the chance to taste local food for buka puasa mcm nasi lemak, nasi beriyani, nasi kerabu, kuih exotics and yg cool not only Malaysian, foreigners pun ramai yg dtg beli foods.

Activity wajib Kelab UMNO Queensland every year is organising takbir raya dari rumah ke rumah. Usually the boys will go sbb the girls will be cooking for raya. This year they went to three houses. Two in St.Lucia and one in Milton.

Haa..the gals already kumpul at the third house coz the third house dh jadi port tuk memasak.

Solat raya tahun ni was in Guyatt Park. From there, we started to visit one house to another. The first house people gathered was at my place. From there to Munro Street, then Indooroopilly and Milton.

Rumah terbuka Aidilfitri Kelab UMNO was held at Ryans Rd, St.Lucia. Everyone in Brisbane were invited. Lovely and delicious food were served..rendang, nasi impit, kuih muih, satay etc. On the second day of raya, people from Brisbane were invited to raya at our friends place at Gold Coast. Menu nye sangat sedap!!

MASCA Game in Melbourne

Masca were held at Melbourne this year and this is my 1st MASCA Game. Been heard a lot about this prestige event. Students from different Uni's represent their states to compete in selected games. I represented Queensland in Tennis, Table Tennis and Futsal. I got there in the 27th June. Went there with Jo, Hajar, Apek, Dan, Fadhil & etc by Virgin Blue. Sampai je we were fetched by Dan's friend. Then the boys headed to mana tah, where as me n Hajar pegi lepak at rumah kawan Hajar until the 30th because participants can only checked in on the 30th till 2nd July..yg lain pandai2 sendiri la..hehe. Thanks Aimie! She's from Melbourne Uni and she played table tennis..haha!! Sementara tgg game start we went to DFO and around city. Kat sana I went to this restaurant called Block M. Its an Indonesian restaurant yg jual ikan bakar yg teramat sedap.

Sbb dh lama x mkn I ordered Ikan Bakar & Sup ekor. Yg cool, this place ada tpt so called jamming and uncle (boss kedai) tu plak suruh kitaorg nyanyi2..haha..silap besar la cz anas, amar and gie ada.Lepas mkn apa lg, anas, amar, gie also sarah pegi la nyanyi as well as practise for MASCA idol on the Malaysian Night nnt. After kenyang we went for jln2 at the Crown Casino. Dunno how, suddenly we decided to play laser skirmish..Giler Cool!!We the malaysian formed a team, and x psal semangat patriotic ada..ahaha!! Owh ya, while we were there, it was the world premiere for Transformers. That particular night, we went to watch the movie and suprisingly, byk betul Msian tp x kenal (and we suspected ni mesti budak2 came for Masca). Transformers was damn great. It reminds me of my childhood moments watching Thundercats,

Silverhawk and etc. The on the 30th we checked in kat Melbourne Uni's College. Perkampungan Sukan. Agak cuak sbb ramai giler org. 1st night we had team meeting and I get to know some people yg main the game that I played. On the 1st day I played tennis and on the second day I played Futsal/Table Tennis. For tennis I played single, double and mixed doubles. We did well as we contributed the gold medal to our contingent. Funny thing happened on the 2nd day, I ws supposed to play Futsal and Table Tennis and the schedule clashed. So i chose to go to Table Tennis although I've been training or Futsal. We only managed to get 4th place for Table Tennis. I can't forget the time I was supposed to meet Aimi in singles, as we are friends, we cant even played properly we were laughing and it ws a tough match, that i lost to her by 2 points.Its ok!

At least I had fun. On the second night we has a dinner called Malaysian Night. Sekali dgn prize giving and Masca Idol. Overall we got third. Its ok...cz all this while I heard that Queensland didnt give enough fight to other states. New South Wales(Sydney) got 1st followed by Victoria (Melbourne). After the dinner ended, as usual party time!!And the hall has turned into dance floor and everybody we dancing. So did I!(although I'm sux in dancing..who cares!). Overall, I did had fun during Masca, got to meet new friends from other states. On 2008, Queensland will be the next host and we are preparing ourselves to be the next champ. Just like our cheer song..

Unforgettable & Memorable

I welcomed 2007 with a dream came true. All my life, I've always wanted to go and watch any of the Tennis Grand Slam - Live. Million thanx to the sponsors, mama n abah..haha! Giler ok dpt pegi tengok Tennis Australian Open. Also, it was my first time to Melbourne. Went there with Nadia Gale (u mmg best la)..We were in Melbourne for 4 days - 2 days to watch tennis and 2 days for jalan2. Mmg x boleh lupa every single minute and every single heart beat when I was there. I cant even sleep the night before going to Melbourne..so does Nadia Gale. There we stayed at Iris's place for 4 nights..thanx gal for the hospitality. We went for the Women's Qtr Final Day Session, Women's Semi Final Day Session and Men's Semi Final Night Session. Haha..betapa excitednye kitaorg, by the time turun from Tram, trus mcm 'perak'..Nadia even said 'Nana, betul ke kita dh sampai kat sini..' Yeay...! The match that we watched were:

Overall its was damn fantastic matches. Most people were asking 'kenape x pegi tgk final?'..well to me, if i beli the final tickets it'll cost me $125 for each women's and men's finals(concession price) and I can only watch 4 players in actions. Instead i bought Quarters ($68 concession price/day or night session) & Semi's ($97 concession price/ day or night) tickets, I managed to watch more than 4 players in action and its really worth it. Biasa laa..kena budget jugak..students!hehe..At first I was expecting to watch my idol Justine Henin live, but last minute she cancelled her participation due to personal problem (sbb dia in the middle of divorcing dgn husband dia)...arrgh!!But still, the others gave a tough and good match.

My fav matches were Hingis Vs Clijsters (Mana tak, both used to be World No 1, and seriously I was and really am impressed with their skills and strokes)..and definitely the awaited Federer Vs Roddick. I expected Federer Vs Roddick match would be a tough one, just like what happened during the US Open 2006 Finals. But, Federer definitely too good to handle. And he got it with a straight sets. Apa pun, ada jugak dissapointment where, players mcm Marat Safin (OMG..he's hot) and Amelie Mauresmo didn't managed to get through to the quarters (although Mauresmo was in the finals in Australian Open 2006). Also not to forget, WELCOME BACK SERENA!! She made a huge come back. The winners are Roger Federer & Serena Williams.

Owh ya, before I forgot, in the Rod Laver Arena, not only they had the tournaments, also they had variety of sponsors booth (we collected lots of free goodies there..hehe) and our favourite were the Garnier and Optus booth. I didn't shop much because I've spent for the AO 07 souvenirs ( I bought bag n tag). Also key-chain for my tennis freak friends in Malaysia..hehe. Well, after two days berkampung kat Rod Laver Arena, alang2 dah ada kat Melbourne, I visited around the city. Pegi shopping malls, Victoria Market, Smith Street, Immigration Museum, Crown Casino..mmg best.Melbourne mmg heaven of food. Halal food and restaurant can easily get (possibility to gain weight amat la tinggi)..hehe. But the thing I missed most, until now are Max Brenner Waffle and Crispy Creme Donuts..

It was a fun and exciting moments, even now I can't even stop smiling when talks about the AE 07. That excitements encouraged to go to the other Grand Slams like the French Open, Wimbledon & US Open..One day...Someday..Soon...
